National Junior Competition

We hold a competition for children who are working hard at their studies in Japanese music and dance.
We look forward to seeing energetic children take on the challenge!

~Application Guidelines~
■Eligible

All genres of Japanese music and dance

Individuals or groups of 3 or less who are 17 years old as of April 1, 2025

(Regardless of nationality or place of residence)

*There are no restrictions on the number or age of accompanists.


■Application Period

Thursday, May 1, 2025 - Saturday, May 31, 2025

■How to apply

Please fill out the required information on the application form and upload a recording or video of your performance (up to 3 minutes) to apply.

■Judging

◇Preliminary round (private judging)-----------

【Judging method】

A private judging will be conducted based on the submitted recordings and videos to determine the finalists.

【Announcement of the results】

The results will be sent to the registered email address after 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

【Performance】

Free. Original compositions are also accepted.

All genres of Japanese music and Japanese dance are accepted.

Submit audio or video data of up to 3 minutes via the application form.

【Participation fee】

Free

◇Final round (public judging)-----------

【Judging method】
A public judging will be conducted by the judges (described below) to determine the winners.
The results will be announced and an awards ceremony will be held on the day.

[Date and time]

Monday, July 28, 2025, doors open at 9:30, judging from 10am to 2pm, award ceremony from 3pm to 4pm, and the contest ends at 5pm

[Venue]

Akasaka Community Center Hall

(Akasaka Community Plaza, 4-18-13 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo)


[Participation fee]

Individual 18,000 yen / Group 24,000 yen

[Performance]

Free. Original compositions are acceptable. The same pieces as in the preliminary round are acceptable.

All genres of Japanese music and dance are acceptable.

Time limit: 5 minutes. (Points will be deducted if time is exceeded)

 

[Clothing and hairstyle]

Free. There are changing rooms at the venue.


[About the performance]

A gold folding screen and scarlet carpet will be provided on the stage.

In addition, the stage curtain will be raised and lowered for each performance.

Please bring your own instruments, accessories such as music stands and instrument stands, and sound sources as necessary.

If you use an instrument, please tune it yourself. There is a string tuning room at the venue.

If you will be playing sound sources for dance, etc., please bring CDs or cassette tapes. Sound source tests will be conducted on the day upon request.

[Accompaniment]
When using the changing room, tuning room, or waiting room, only one attendant per contestant is allowed.


[Spectators]

Preschool children, including contestants, are not allowed to watch during the judging process. Please be aware of this in advance.

A free viewing ticket will be provided to contestants and their attendants (one person per contestant).

Other spectators should apply via the viewing ticket application form (https://formok.com/f/rexzilo0).

First 300 people

General 2,000 yen per ticket

1,000 yen for those under 18, 65 or older, people with disabilities, and those living, working, or studying in Minato Ward


[Parking]

Only vehicles that have been registered in advance may enter and exit the venue temporarily for loading and unloading.

Please note that vehicles cannot be parked.
